I am building a library of sound and visual effects that I can use on future productions. Does anybody know of any web sites that I can download for free, sound f/x, copyright free music, digital visual f/x, and the like.
For the sound I want a full range, from gun shots, to screams, to eerie sounds.
For the music I'm looking for stuff I can use for incidential music.
Visual f/x I want to include Gun fire f/x, fire balls, etc.
I use Premiere editing software, and Adobe after effects.
Thanks to all in advance.

For the special effects, you can go to vce.com. they have a product called pyromania which is a collection of fire and explosion clips. You probably need a chroma -key to get rid of the black background. Anyway they have example clips. they wont let you save them to your hard drive, but I've found a way around that. You probably have some kind of "temporary files" folder in your web browser folder. If you have the little window for the clip open from the website, there should be a file for the clip. open the file and it will convert to quicktime or some thing like that. Then import that file into your editing program. The clip says vce.com at the bottom of it so adjust adjust the canvas size to cover the words. then save as a self contained movie file. After youve done that you can simply import that file on to a second video track in your movie and get rid of the black back ground however your editor would handle a green-screen effect.

What your doing is VERY hard... I find it anyway. There are many free sites for soundeffects on the internet but most are of low quality and sound crap!
Try searching for Free Soundeffects on the internet or on Napster... there are some high quality soundeffects available here as well.
Good Luck,
